Ministry of burgers (MOB) is a permanent Ramly burger restaurant located in the heartland area in Pasir Ris White Sands. They offer good quality burgers at very affordable prices. Let’s check them out today.

The establishment is located outside white sands shopping center within the common pedestrian walkway of Pasir Ris MRT station. Also, despite the similar naming convention, Ministry of Burgers are not in any way affiliated with the Ministry of Food establishment.

A Ramly restaurant

Additionally, the store is split into two distinct sections. One section where the kitchen and ordering counters are and the other is a small high table air-conditioned dining area. Moreover, the ordering kiosks is literally a hole in the wall, where you can order your burgers in a takeaway style. It is perfect for busy people on-the-go.

A small dining area offers a mix of tabled and counter wall-facing seating. You can only make your orders from outside the store where the establishment point of sale terminals are. You can bring you food into the air condition seating area adjacent to the ordering unit. Notably, with most orders are usually takeaways, the dining area is usually not packed. You won’t have an issue finding a place to dine, even on weekends.

Furthermore, the store is notably well frequented by students and working professional passing by for a takeout and food delivery services. The kitchen staff are really friendly too.

Simple selections for a simple outlet

On quality, I found their burgers are simple, but effective. You have a choice of Ramly Style burgers in veggie, chicken, beef or fish. Each of them cost $4.50 each. The portions are however, not quite what I would call filling.

A burger with a side of fries and drink will probably be good for a lunch or a mid-day snack. But probably not enough for a filling dinner, unless if you are a small eater. The burgers are all served nearly wrapped in their trademark MOB decorated wrapper.

The Drinks counter

A recommendation to go with burgers is their Special biryani fries $2.90. These straight-cut fries are infused with Biryani flavors. Drink options are your typical soda fanfare with selections limited in their drinks chiller.

Moreover, don’t let the reputation of Ramly burgers scare you. Notably, the quality of the burgers served here is of better quality and taste better than those in night markets. Also, you can tell that a significant level of quality control goes into making these burgers. They are neat and not overly dripping out the edges with sauces.

The works

Additionally, you get a fried egg in your burger stuffed on top of a Ramly meat patty. These are sandwiched between two regular sandwich burger buns (not toasted). Of course, you also get a generous concoction of Ramly sauces between the buns.

Moreover, the meat patties are ground consistent and have a rather flat texture. It was bit too salty to my liking. A typical trait of factory processed meat patties. I found the meat not as oily as I expected and rather light to the taste. This is unlike the oil-soaked variants you might be familiar with.

In typical Ramly fashion, the burger is ozzing with sauce goodness, with an oversized fried egg to boot

Furthermore, you do not get the awkward taste you typically get on Pasar Malam Ramly burgers, or even those across the causeway. You could call it as Ramly burgers without too much of the guilt.

Notably, burger patties in Singapore’s “Ramly burgers” are from AVA-approved Singaporean brands such as Tasty, Sultan Burger and Armiya. Interestingly, this can verified this by the stacks of Ramly burger patties boxes stowed in the dining area. Tad of a sign of this Ramly’s authenticity.

Better than your average Ramly

Come to think about it, the food quality is what you expect for the price. Cheaper than an equivalent MacDonald junk food burgers, but on average 4 times cheaper than your average boutique gourmet burger place like Fat boys Burgers or Fat Burgers. However, at its heart, Ministry of Burgers is a Ramly burger store. With much better quality offered from those you get from night markets. Still, a Ramly is a Ramly. It pays to consume these in moderation.

All in all, if you are coming just from a premium burger perspective, you might find disappointment in what Ministry of Burgers can offer. However, it is worth noting that once you consider the offerings for the great price, it is really hard to discredit Ministry of Burgers in offering really cheap burgers, at a good balance of quality.

It is hard not to give it a recommendation. Do check it out when you are in the Pasir Ris area.
