Inaugural Lion City Marathon

Here we have it, the 2nd official international marathon in Singapore for the 2008 season. Part of the Uniquely Singapore experience starting from the city to the west north up to Mandai. From what I see, the run will be rather scenic and cooling around the water catchment areas (mandai) so be prepared for a rather nice run away from the city wilderness.

However, due to the start/finish in the city (Bugis) be prepared to run along crowded city routes at the end with possible Deja-vu(s) of incomplete road closures just like Sheares Bridge Run AHM 06 (brrrrr!). Nevertheless a welcome to the many marathons lined for our running calender this year!

  1. Expression of Interest

I would like to be considered to run the 21k event along with a colleague from London (Paul Thomas)

    When will registration be available?

    Many thanks

    • Hi Terry, registrations are not open at the moment, but when it is so, you can do so at your conveniences online and simply collect the goodie bag at the race expo in Singapore in due course prior to race day.

If you wish to be informed of the latest updates on the event, you can email to info@lioncitymarathon.com.

  2. Is registration still open for the Lion City Marathon? I’ve sent several emails to their site but haven’t gotten back any information/replies. I’d like to run, any update would be great.

  3. Looks like the race will be postponed or even cancelled, check out the message on the official website (http://www.lioncitymarathon.com/):

BEEN WORKING HARD BEHIND THE SCENE MAPPING OUT THE COURSE, CORDINATING

    • Thanks frank for the heads up, I was having a hard time contacting them on details too as everything was all “tentative” tentative” glad the sundown marathon came out great though.

Btw, few months from June, might clash around the AHM period, FYI that will be around the Newbalance realrun and Swissotel vertical marathon period as well. With only 1 month before the december Singapore Marathon as well.
