Hi Shaun!
My name is Murat. I am from Kazakhstan. I have done the application for admission in NUS for Computing. I mean, that my all 5 choices are for School of Computing. I’ve done the application before the deadline. But after the deadline in my application status my online application enquiry was “application received” (it was not even processing). i havent received any letters from NUS . status still recieved.. the other time i wrote them an email, they replied that the outcome will come latest during mid july I wondered if NUS missed out my application? Dont u know about dis situation anything else? :sad::?:Also dont u know about application process for category D.Thanks.i look forwardto hearing from u soon.

hey sonny, good points your raised there.

I read recently with interest on the straits times on the event as well, maybe that I was wrong on the focus if the event is targeted at the “pop-centric” group of people, given that these group of people are generally the “fence hoppers” who don’t particularly have a strong adherence to any particular comic genre they are loyal too. For them, this event more or less suit their needs and wants, or even exposing them more to the culture so they can take sides and go into one maybe?

With regards to entrance fees, for Singaporeans I think that might be a big let down, but at least that filters out those people serious to attend the event.

Maybe they should do it like the aerospace or trade shows, with closed events for visitors in invites, and the remaining days for the public.

not sure bout the ‘weak fan base’ thing…i was quite shocked to see attendance estimates: 130-140,000… even san deigo comic con in 2007 has 125,000 only. maybe needs to be adjusted for re-visitors, but even halved or quartered its still an impressive turnout…

i did think there weren’t enough exclusives and artists.. but as a first time event the buzz was really good ; and given the attendance figures, it’ll be much easier to get more companies and artists involved next year :p

trickiest problem i think will be deciding whether to charge admission - becomes more affordable for organisers but then you risk losing the casual visitor…

Yesh thats very interesting fact, but I think though despite livestock being a larger contributor to C02 levels, pollution from transportation still has a more visible direct health effect, so it tends to be more overrated. I find that it’s harder to regulate transportation pollution than livestock.

What’s more interesting I recently read that a single dakar rally churns out more C02 per day than the entire US in that given amount of time?

18% of green house gas emission is because of live stock, which is more than the emission cause by transportation. So eat vegetarian food. It will not only reduce green house gas but also you will have a diet food.

My cheque? 1 has been flag as fraudulent, I more status set ’sent’ about 1 month +. I’m sending my first warning today (after dozen of polite complaint). So if I didn’t receive any respond from them within this week, I’ll start war with ADVERTLETS!

There are 3 packs there so far. One is a general pack which came out when the game was first released and does nothing except for braggin rights.

The medic and pryo achievement packs unlocks 3 new weapons each for both the med and pyro respectively.

Mmm yes, that may give a hint or two of it being a closed event, because I am quite puzzled how they are able to host such a big event with in Sentosa now with most of the area under major construction now.

Having it at Changi again will seem to be the most logical choice now.
