No time, so much rush.

Posted by Shaun at 10:02 pm under Blogs | 543 Reads | Post Comment

Didn’t have much time to get this entry up, so I will make this quick.

Got a new Maxell screen filter and a LCD indicator from simlim yesterday. C&C generals is also out retailing at $44.90 (lowest price in SLS) EA games decided to do away with the traditional big box of air thingy, spooting a much more compact and smaller packaging this time. I don’t have much time to complete it either I would have to put the purchase later when I have the time to play and, for the price to drop too. Dinner was good and it was sometime since my fam went to the Metro-Y YMCA coffee house for dinner too. Sunday was spent very much slacking around as usual and casual gaming. So much for that, oh well for now….

The end of this sunday.

Posted by Shaun at 9:43 pm under Blogs | 563 Reads | Post Comment
Its coming to the end of the week… (If ya weeks don’t start on a sunday it is so.) it had been a fun week and letssee.. my horoscope next week tells me to “pay attention and don’t neglect my family”.. Mmmm time to call ‘em folks up more times a day… *duh*

Tomorrow will be start of another work day, monday. Oh well, so much for monday blues like what Garfield experience, weekly!

Btw, on fixing the problem with the worms 3D demo, after unzipping the game files just rename the run.cmd file in the root directory to run.bat, execute it to run. Game wise, controlling the worm in a 3D environment does take sometime to get used to, esp after playing 3 generation worms in a 2D environment.

Monday here we come!

Slacker’s sunday

Posted by Shaun at 5:48 pm under General | 620 Reads | 2 Comments
Nothing much happened today this sunday, but managed to get my old stinking canoscan FB310 scanner to work with windows XP, after some Bios and driver tweaks, off in a gif. Software incompatitblity? no such thing in my way dude… I dun need to depend so much on my other windows 95 system to scan images. So with that in hand, finished another furry artpiece and got it up on VCL. CS1.6 is freaking cheap to play online now after the beta stages, maybe I should play more UT and tribes these days… And grrr downloaded the anticipated “october blockbuster”- Team17’s Worms 3D demo but dont seem to be able to get it working, furthermore its an official download. dammit!

JC class outing

Posted by Shaun at 11:04 pm under Blogs | 525 Reads | Post Comment
Didn’t know the outing today is so widely known, with all the SMSes flying around, its sure hard to miss that. But in the end only 6 people went and yea, we met many others while we are out too, mainly NS and old school friends. It was rather enjoyable and we can’t wait for the next meet again.
And so, the day started with a wake up at about 9am. Got my dad to fetch me to Beach road to get some equipment at the army market. Namely a new L-torch, sonic wave mosquito repellant, some buckles just to name a few. And so the house needs a new hall light? Dang! it was my dad idea anyway… and he had to drag me to Sungei road to get some new fluorescent lamps, making me late for my “meet” in the process. “on the way” he said…
So theres Geoffery, Shup (da birthday gal), Zongjie, Julia and her bf for the outing many said they won’t come many didn’t turned up either. Dropped Nooch noodle bar for lunch and kinda like wasted the afternoon there chatting till 5pm+ can’t help it as we had not end in bout 8 months! No time for a movie? well so theres Super funworld arcade at Marina with Nameco’s Time crises 2, 3, Konami’s World of combat and lot of DDR too. Bowled one group round at superbowl “just for fun” you can guess how bad everyone’s scores are.
Its also one trip where the Safra club discount card suddenly made itself indispensable, with discounts mainly flying off mostly at anderson’s icecream stands…. ice cream obsession or deprivation? well… what the heck!
Lastly, what outing is complete without a dropby Suntec City. Super crowded as usual and the place where people always use fountains as performance stages… Had dinner at the fountian terrace’s Slizzer, (aka Ponderosa number 2) and their Ice cream machine is maulfuntioning! dang it, luckily for anderson’s… Got a new issue of PC extreme magazine for some in camp entertainment next week. For now…

Birthday bikers

Posted by Shaun at 10:01 pm under Blogs | 540 Reads | Post Comment
Bike in the morning they say and yea theres me and my friends at east coast early this morning for some leisure biking. Got my dad to ferry my bike from home using the car’s bike rack. It was fun, got to see lots of racing, flying, cuts and bruises, otherwise pure-fun. Its also quite surprising that a few didn’t know how to ridea bike… (taking bout deprived childhoods!) but it was easily settled with a few short lessons by some of us “dedicated” coaches. Headed back for lunch at home thereafter as my dad’s cooking (and he hadn’t cooked lunch on a saturday for quite sometime too, another reason for me to go back home to chow). Did some “spring” cleaning in my room, namely getting rid of all my old useless school worksheets and books which I would had incinerated sometime ago… tidied up my comp’s interior cabling bit as those messy fan and IDE cables are catching alot of air in my casing’s wind tunnel.

And hey today’s my mum’s birthday too. Its a birthday cake from my dad and dinner thereafter at the riverside/quayside Chinese restaurant. The food there is very much of a teochew styled restaurant- a higher classier version of those teochew hawker, and yea they even serve sharks fin.

The army half marathon is on tomorrow, Benjamin shears bridge would be closed to all traffic, nice many may say, the signs and detours are up and ready to go…. lucky for me, I don’t have to run! Zzzz!

9/11, 2 years had passed…

Posted by Shaun at 9:54 pm under Current Issues | 423 Reads | Post Comment
It had been 2 years since the sept-11 attacks. Our deepest sympathy and prayers go out to the families and victims of NY, DC, Pentagon, American Airlines Flight 11, UNITED Airlines Flight 175, American Airlines Flight 77, & UNITED Airlines Flight 93. We will not allow such disasters disrupt our lives in anyway, but instead everybody will rise up united and stronger.

Let me end with a quote from NYC mayor, Rudolph Giuliani:

….It was new York City?s worst week. But it was New York City?s best week. We have never been braver. We have never been stronger….
